Nintendo Plans "Surprising" Zelda Showing At E3 2010

Nintendo fans are in for more than just new Wii Vitality Sensor software at E3 2010. The Legend of Zelda series producer Eiji Aonuma says Nintendo hopes to show something "surprising" about Link's next Wii-bound adventure.

Aonuma tells the UK's Official Nintendo Magazine that the Zelda team has been trying "something new in terms of the structure" of the next entry in The Legend of Zelda, which Shigeru Miyamoto teased at this year's E3 in the form of new concept art.

The next Zelda game after The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks appears to be aimed at mixing up the now-familiar 3D formula. Aonuma tells ONM that he agrees with Miyamoto that "if we are following the same structure again and again, we might not be able to give long time Zelda fans a fresh surprise."

The still unnamed Zelda title will take advantage of the Wii MotionPlus peripheral and, more than likely, will offer a new role for Link's trusty Master Sword, as hinted at by the Wii game's concept art.

New Metroid Prime games to come

Metroid Prime 3: Corruption may not be the last game in the Prime series. With Other M on the way next year, some might have thought that the Prime series had come to an end but, as Nintendo's Kensuke Tanabe told ONM, the series may still have a future.

Asked whether Samus will ever return to DS, Tanabe (who oversaw Retro Studios' series for Nintendo) said "We are always planning to make new games in the Metroid Prime series. Depending on the timing and the situation, we cannot deny the possibility of realising it on DS or DSi."

Kensuke Tanabe discusses the making of Metroid Prime Trilogy in issue 50 of Official Nintendo Magazine which is on sale from Friday 20 November.

Would you like to play a new Metroid Prime game? If so, would you prefer to play it on Wii or DS?

Infinity Ward talking about spin-off game

[ Category: Video Game News ]

Though Modern Warfare 2 is rife with instantly accessible, beloved characters with fascinating names, we all know that one stands out as the franchise's most memorable protagonist: Ghost. You know, Ghost! He's got that skull mask, and there was that one scene where that guy's about to shoot you, and then Ghost shoots him right back. He's already risen to fame somewhat when he received a six-part comic series telling his story -- but if the actor who provides the spectral hero's voice is to be believed, he might just show up in his own video game as well.

Craig Fairbrass, who not only did the voice for Ghost in MW2, but also voiced the equally unfortunately named Gaz in the original Modern Warfare, mentioned, "I'm now voicing a guy called Ghost, who now just got a spin-off comic of his own and they're talking about another little game to go with it." Little game? Based on the number of Michael Bay-esque explosions in the first five minutes of Modern Warfare 2, we're not sure Infinity Ward is capable of making those.

Whore of the Week (11/13) Dita Von Teese

[ Category: Whores ]

Dita Von Teese was born Heather Renée Sweet on September 28, 1972 in Rochester, Michigan, the middle of three daughters. Her mother was a manicurist and her father was a machinist at a company that made graphite. She is of partly Armenian heritage.

Von Teese is well known for her fascination with 1940s cinema and classic retro style. This began at a young age and was fostered by her mother, who would buy clothes for her daughter to dress up in. Her mother was a fan of old, Golden-era Hollywood films, and it was from her that Von Teese developed a fascination with the actresses of that day, especially Betty Grable.

She was classically trained as a ballet dancer from an early age, and danced solo at age thirteen for a local ballet company. Though she originally wanted to be a ballerina, Von Teese states that "By 15 I was as good as I’d ever be." She was later to incorporate this element into her burlesque shows, where she frequently goes en pointe.

The family relocated from Michigan to Orange County, California when her father's job moved.Von Teese attended University High School in Irvine.

As a teenager, Von Teese's mother took her to buy her first bra, made from plain white cotton, and gave her a plastic egg containing a pair of wrinkly, flesh-colored tights. Von Teese says she was disappointed as she had been hoping to receive beautiful lacy garments and stockings, of the type she had glimpsed in her father's Playboy magazines. This fueled her passion for lingerie. She worked in a lingerie store as a salesgirl when she was fifteen, eventually as a buyer. Von Teese has been fond of wearing elaborate lingerie such as corsets and basques with fully fashioned stockings ever since.

In college Von Teese studied historic costuming and aspired to work as a stylist for period films. She is a trained costume designer, often designing (and copyrighting) the photoshoots herself.

Men dressed as Mario and Luigi rob a cab driver

[ Category: LOL ]

Times are a little tougher than normal in Nintendo land currently, but one hardly expects to see Mario and Luigi jacking a cab driver.

Footage on the NY Daily News website shows two men dressed as the Nintendo characters—and a third tuxedo-clad man—emerging from a cab in a gas station on Staten Island in the early morning hours of November 1. Apparently the cab driver asked the men to pay up and get out, but the men ended up roughing up the driver, stealing his money and fleeing the scene…. Mama mia!

Rumor: Project Natal launch details leaked

[ Category: Video Game News ]

MCV reports that Microsoft has been showing Project Natal off to UK publishers this week, and filling them in on the launch plan. According to the site's unnamed sources, Microsoft plans to release the peripheral in November 2010, at a sub-£50 ($84) price point that could go as low as £30 ($50) when sold by itself. That price happens to match the price predicted by Michael Pachter last month.

MCV's sources say that Microsoft will have 5 million cameras ready for launch, with a "great launch line-up" of 14 games. While a November launch of a major video game item seems plausible even in a year overloaded with spring releases, this information remains unverified and, therefore, suspect. And we're tempted to say that the price is too good to be true. If it does turn out to be $50, our expression of delight may be the first thing the fancy camera sees.

Select GameStops selling Modern Warfare 2 early

[ Category: Video Game News ]

Activision shot us an email to point out that "Activision has not given any retailer permission to sell Modern Warfare 2 prior to the Nov. 10 street date. The company fully supports the Nov.10 street date." It seems that a whole mess of folks are breaking street date and selling the game early. If you snagged a copy already, enjoy!

Poor, poor GameStop. As the gaming public's anticipation for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 approached critical mass, they faltered in their loyalty, and took their business to small "mom and pop" game retailers who had broken the game's street date. Fortunately for the retail juggernaut, Activision showed compassion for its plight, and agreed to let certain GameStops in a few Northeast states start selling the game before Tuesday in order to help combat these vicious local businesses.

Activision catches both pirates and thieves in Modern Warfar

[ Category: Video Game News ]

While it might be tempting to go straight to Craigslist with those Modern Warfare 2 Xbox 360 bundles you stole, it turns out that Activision notices exciting, high-profile offers just like your potential customers might. VentureBeat reports that when Activision noticed a listing for one of the bundles last Thursday, the company hired a private investigation firm, IPCyberCrime.com, to track down the seller.

When IPCyberCrime found the person behind the sale, the investigator discovered that he was an employee at a retailer, who, with friends, had stolen the bundles to sell on Craigslist. The sellers were turned over to the store's loss prevention department.

That bust led to one of the prospective buyers, named Christian Del Amo, who was raising money on a forum to buy the bundle (allegedly) for the purpose of copying the game and selling the copies, along with other pirated games, on hard drives. IPCyberCrime turned that case over to the Miami-Dade Police Department, who arrested Del Amo.

Obviously, this demonstrates one reason (aside from the whole morality thing) why you shouldn't try to make a business of selling pirated games. Activision has enough money to hire a private investigator, and is not afraid to use it.

One of the screenshots showed the start menu during a campaign level. One of

I found a thread that accompanied pictures, it says that is one of the features, along with perks.

: And the weapons looked very customizable. The BR had a clip of 12, looks like
: it's firing single shots just like it did in early Halo 2 builds.

Really? I think you might be reading too much into it (or I might be mis-understanding what you mean, customizable weapons to me means something like they are going to have in Army of Two: 2)

Kinda got myself to hyped up, on the picture with the Sp'lazer I thought they where in space (space combat!) but I think it is just the light. And one last question, does anyone else see a giant (missile launcher maybe?) thing on the back of the warthog? Other than that I am a little skeptical about how good some of these look, it is like they are farther then what I thought they would be by now, although they have been working on it longer than I have known, so...
