Well I ended up buying a DSi after seeing my friends, and I have to say it is like 10x better than the DSLite.

I bought Pokemon Platinum version with it, the game is has a lot of depth to it, definitely worth getting if you like pokemon games, RPGs, or hell need a new game to keep you occupied during the summer.

At first the DSi didnt really appeal to me that much, but now I may consider it. If someone figures out how to hack the firmware like on the PSP that would be awesome.

Yeah, in terms of DSiWare, the current selection is total shit. There's WarioWare: Snapped!, Birds & Beans, Brain Age Express: Math, Art Style: Aquia (which actually looks kind of decent, but I'll wait before making a decision), and the Web Browser. Hopefully the rumors about downloadable GB/GBC/GBA games are true, and hopefully the rumors about downloadable content for games is also true.

Yeah, I was one of those fags who bought it on launch day. At this stage, this is looking to be a pretty worthy investment for me.

1. The matte finish is something I definitely like, because as much as I love my Lite, I fingerprinted the hell out of it, something that happens just too easily with glossy finishes.

2. Although 0.25 extra inches per screen doesn't sound much, the difference is definitely noticeable when you see it in person, and I most definitely approve.

3. The lack of a GBA port is no big to me, just because, if you own GBA games and still play them, you have at least one or two devices that will let you play them, because honestly, odds are, you still have your original DS/DS Lite and/or a GBA or GBA SP. And for those of you who still play Pokeymans and plan on transferring them from one system to the next, you probably have a Lite. So stop bitching already. Fags.

4. The cameras, while fun, are definitely shitty. No way around it. However, there is some slight potential. Hopefully Nintendo doesn't just relegate it to full body wagglan.

5. The ability to return to the DSi menu is pretty damn awesome, because I hated having to turn off my system to switch games/change settings.

6. The DSi Sound application is OKish, sure, it only plays AAC files, but considering that over 90% of the music market owns iPods, it's pretty easy to adjust (In iTunes, highlight the songs you want to convert, then click: Advanced > Create AAC Version). Most of the stuff you can do to play with your music is absolute BS, but it does its job well, and the improved speakers definitely help out with that.

7. I never owned the DS/DS Lite browser personally, but from what I hear and have seen in videos, I'm definitely glad I never did invest in it. I'd heard mixed things about the DSi's browser, so I jumped in not knowing too much what to expect. I was actually pretty pleased. Yes, it won't run as fast as your computer's browser, but given the hardware limitations of the DSi, the browser runs pretty smoothly. I can browse BC pretty quickly.

8. The system feels lighter than its other two brethren. Not too noticeable, not something to really care about, but still.

9. Nintendo kind of dropped the ball on picture support. You can't take pictures from your computer and use them on your DSi, which is kind of shitty, but who knows, they might be able to enable that in a future firmware update. Only time shall tell.

10. Sure, you get 1000 free DSi Points, but I'm saving them for now. From what I hear, WarioWare: Snapped! is much much much shorter than the other versions, and nothing else really catches my interest. I'll check in the store next week and see if the good stuff starts coming around.
