From the looks of things, I think season three will be the end of the series. I interpret Riggens leaving his cleats as a way to start bringing everything to a close. I would bet this weeks episode will be the last. I am very happy that they had a third season because I felt so cheated at the end of season two. Most of the main characters are graduating and moving on to different places and very little has been done to replace them. I love the show and hope I am pleasantly surprised with a fourth season.

I play college football right now, and Riggins leaving his shoes on the field means he's leaving it all on the field. When players get drafted they leave their jerseys or shoes on the field at the last game.

I don't agree that season three is the final season. There are so many avenues that this show can take. They have stayed away from Smash Williams college development, Jason's new career and the uncertainty regarding the division of the town of Dillion. Many questions can be asked for another season. What coaches and players will stay at the original high school? Will JD's parents transfer their son to the rival school in spite of Coach Taylor's decision to bench their in the state championship? Will Tim Riggins play college football? Can Tyra get admitted into college? Can Jason make it in the Big Apple? Can Smash Williams regain his confidence in his knee and dominate on the college level? Will Matt leave his aging grandmother for Illinois? Not to mention how the relationships tie into the turmoil. Matt/Julie, Landry/Tyra, Tim/Lyla, etc. This show has the potential for another great season if the questions above are considered. Thanks again for posting the episodes.

I thought when Riggins left his cleats on the field it meant - he would be back in the Fall to play on that field - wasn't the game played at San Antonio State?

To the person that says theres so much potential for this show to another season. I think this is the last one because all those things you said could be answered in one show. I actually hope theres just like 1-3 more episodes left. I would like another season but theres no point for it. and it would probably suck.
And whats the song at the end? wheres rigs is putting his cleats down,

I would like to see a season 4 but most likely characters like Jason Street and Smash Williams will not be back. I know for sure Jason Street will not be because when he left the show, him and the actor that plays Riggins did interviews talking about how is was going to be hard for the two of them to continue there acting careers without the other. Riggins could be back for a season 4 but Jason Street is most likely out of the picture.

There won't even be a season 4, there isn't a chance. Does anyone even understand the struggle they went through to even have a 3rd seson?
Also Riggins leaving his cleats there was a symbol of him Retiring as a HIGHSCHOOL football player. Showing how he played with everything he had for the Panthers and how much he enjoyed it.
