Now that /home/, our former home to video game related news, is gone, I was thinking of moving news into the forums. One reason being I always noticed that I could post an article on the /home/ and then the same exact article on /forums/ and /forums/ ALWAYS got attention, while /home/ didn't. Obviously more people come to the forums than the old news page.
Right now, all we have is /news/, but I was thinking of adding a forum called Video Game News Center (in the near future, maybe around summer 2008, definitely not right now) where we can all post video game news in full lengths. That means not just a link to the article, but enough to get something from the thread alone, and of course you would have to source it.
This will help us in search engine optimization and should get us more traffic, but what I'm wondering is if it deserves it's own forum. If the forum were made, it would be placed under the Online Gaming Discussion forum, and would be considered a Special Forum discussion. It'll be like /home/ came back except it will be more popular and we will actually get comments. And of course, I would post news like a mad man like I used to.

I could see a forum for news. I'm not sure if a whole forum would be necessary because there are probably other parts of the site you could place news under as well but I could see a news forum working.

My bad, I meant a board, not an entire forum. A board for video game news.

I see a lot of forums doing the same thing, but the real question is whether moderation should come into play. I'm for it, personally.

Moderation will come into play, considering someone could go in there and act like a faggot.

I'm for a separate board for nooz. It just needs moderation (only not like every other sites' mods who get you b& for breathing).
