I choose to be a human rogue (a good rogue, though). I'd like to carry an XM-8 Carbine, a modified BK-27 (essentially a bazooka that fires small tank rounds [unlike the current BK-27]), and nuclear grenades.

This might be a little long, but here are my ideas for the stats. (Feel free to edit the percentages, or veto some of the stuff.) I'll refer to magic points as mana, btw.

CAUTION: LONG READ

Strength (STR)
Increases physical attack power, as well as abilities (not to be confused with spells). 1 STR adds 1 to your base attack, and 1 to offensive abilities, unless otherwise stated.

As well, it limits the weight of the weapon you use (Str x 1.5=Max weight of usable weapon). If your strength is below the weight of your weapon, you will incur a 2% per lb penalty over your limit, to your DEX. There is no bonus to your strength being higher than the weight of the weapon, besides being able to dual-wield weapons with a smaller penalty, if any (for certain classes, of course.).

For example:
Weapon weight: 20 lbs
Strength: 10
10x1.5=15
15<20 (Weapon unusable)
20-15=5
5x2=10
=10% Penalty to DEX (hitting)

Stamina (STA)
Affects your overall Hit Points (HP). Depending on what class you are, 1 STA point could be worth 1, 2, or 3 HP, in addition to your base HP. As well, it affects your defensive ability. 1 STA point is one point in defense, in addition to equipped armor, and base defense.

Dexterity (DEX)
Affects your ability to evade a physical attack, as well as your ability to successfully hit your opponent with an attack/ability. Again, this is added to your base DEX, and stacked on any bonuses from items. Your DEX for hitting is always 100%. DEX is added to your hit percent and of course, the defender's evasion ability will deduct from the total.

1 DEX
= 3.5% Chance to hit
= 3.5% to Evade

Example:
Attacker has 10 DEX
=135% to hit
Defender has 17 DEX
=59.5% to evade

135-59.5 = 75.5% to Hit.

Now, let's assume the attacker has a 10% penalty, as his weapon is too heavy. Let's see the results.

135%-10%=125% to hit
125-59.5=65.5% to hit

Thus demonstrates the value of picking your weapon effectively.

Intelligence (INT)
Affects your spell offense. 1 INT adds 0.5 to the base power of your spell, unless otherwise stated. As well, INT adds to your total Mana Capacity, again depending on your class, 1 INT could be worth 1, 2, or 3 Mana, in addition to base mana, and mana boosts received from items. It also affects your ability to hit with spells. 1 INT = 3% to hit with spell (unless it is a healing spell, where the hit % is always 100.)

Example:
Char INT=10
Power of Spell=20
10x0.5=5
5+20=25
Overall Spell Power: 25

NOTE: Int affects the power of offensive spells only, not healing/support spells.

Wisdom (WIS)
Wisdom affects your spell defense, which reduced damage taken from spells. 1 WIS adds 1 to your base Spell Defense, unless the spell that is being casted on you states otherwise (healing spells, for example, ignore WIS). As well, WIS adds to the power of your healing/support spells, if applicable (status healing spells do not apply, for example). It also affects your ability to evade offensive spells. You get a 3.5% chance to evade a spell per WIS spell. Refer to dexterity for details on hitting/missing.

Example:
Let's use the spell power from the INT example to determine the damage done to the target.

Spell Power = 25
WIS= 14
25-14=9

Therefore, the target will incur 9 damage.

Note that if your WIS is high enough that you actually negate the spell completely, you do not regain HP depending on how much your spell defense trumps the offensive spell, unless a piece of equipment/ability allows you to do so.

Well, there is my base idea. As soon as I know what the classes are officially, I will specify what I mean by "certain classes." If you need anything clarified, ask me.

Dexterity was a pain in the ass to figure out...and I'm still not convinced that it's balanced. Evasion may need to be improved to 4% per DEX.
