Today it was announced that billionaire Mark Cuban, owner of the Dallas Mavericks, was charged with insider trading by the SEC. He was given knowledge about a public offering for mamma.com, and 4 hours later sold all his shares of the company because he knew the price would drop.

This move saved him $750,000.

According to Phillip Stern, a former SEC attorney and current lawyer at Neal, Gerber & Eisenberg, Cuban will likely face a fine of twice the losses he would have incurred, or about $1.5 million. The SEC's lawsuit is a civil case, and Cuban does not face any criminal charges. -- source: CNN: Mark Cuban charged with Insider Trading

Greed is an amazing thing. It can lead someone to millions, or billions of dollars in assets. But Mark Cuban can't take his money with him. If he had consulted Jesus, I wonder what investment decision he would have made.

Do you consult Jesus about all of your investment decisions? Do you consult Jesus about anything in your life... finances, love, marriage, kids, work? Maybe you should start.
