EW.com: It's not quite a touchdown yet, but at least they're near the end zone.

Sources confirm to me exclusively that NBC is engaged in active talks with DirecTV to extend their unique shared-window experiment with Friday Night Lights. But there's a catch -- and it's a good one. According to an insider close to the negotiations, DTV and NBC might only seal the deal if they can get – holy Connie Britton Taylor! -- a two-season pickup.

Though a spokesperson for NBC Universal declined to comment, a Peacock insider acknowledges that the studio is "actively looking at ways to keep FNL going." Another NBC source adds, "We're very optimistic a deal will be worked out."



The one possible complication? The show's behind-the-scenes quarterback, Jason Katims, is attached to NBC's buzzy Parenthood pilot. If it's picked up, he would either do double duty or be forced to make a choice. Similarly, the show's go-to director, Jeffrey Reiner, is helming NBC's Trauma pilot. FNL might be able to carry on without one of its MVPs, but both? Hmm…

But maybe it's too soon to be wringing our hands over changes to the lineup. Once we have a pickup under our belt, then we can worry about such things. And while we wait for the official word, let's show NBC and DirecTV what a wise decision they would be making by keeping FNL alive by sounding off below.

[  Currently: Listening To Maroon 5 - Makes Me Wonder ]

Friday Night Lights, after like three weeks (holiday break?), finally airs one of two remaining episodes tonight. There's actually been one time I was able to post an episode the same night it aired, and as much as I wish I could do that with the two last episodes, being honest they probably won't be here until the day after they air on TV.

You can keep checking tonight, but hopefully the 12th episode (Title: Underdogs) is here by tomorrow evening. Thank you for reading and break on.

Note: Friday Night Lights will return to NBC on Friday, January 16th.

Quick Notes: FNL does not air this Wednesday, the next airing takes place on December 3rd. If you're looking for episode 8, scroll down to the next entry.

I just read somewhere that the third season of FNL is thirteen episodes long (correct me if I'm wrong). How ever many episodes it is long, the season has to end at sometime. So that has raised the question of what will happen to this weblog when the season ends, and hopefully later on a fourth season begins.

We could let this weblog end along with the third season, but why should we? I was thinking we could turn this little home of season three episodes into a small fansite or something of the like (rest assured I will still post the remaining episodes of this season as regular, and probably even the fourth season if there is one even if it does air on regular cable television for those who don't have time to watch it at home). Basically I would need a few people who love this show with a passion to post various things that they think is worth looking at. This could be stuff like a video of the top ten moments in FNL, episode reviews, favorite wallpapers, anything. It would be like a small fansite.

This may sound funny, but I don't actually watch FNL, I just post them for you guys because I would imagine it would be hard to find them anywhere online. So of course considering I don't have any type of knowlegde of the show, it would be best if a few of the people who come here to watch the show and love the show posted these things and managed this weblog.
