@ cursed: i realize the two are different. but she's 16. gross. she shouldn't even be married. her dad is fucked up in the head. because he had to consent. and she is all about the drama.
now i have had premarital sex, protected of course with someone i love (don't think i need to explain that one lol). i've also done it before 18, but that wasn't by my choice. But yes, you definitely need to be smart about it if you make that choice.

Well I am gonna be the first to say no. No premarital sex. I could tell you guys verse after verse in the Bible about how its wrong and a sin and how sex should be something saved for your wife/husband. But considering you guys could give less than a crap about the Bible (which i find to be very sad) I cannot make a valid argument in your eyes. I guess you guys dont like the Bible since it ruins your fun and makes a lot of what you do wrong.

Except the only source you have for your factual information on what's right and wrong is a book which was written by man and represents the word of God.
Someone who has great influence in our world could write a book and get people to believe whatever he or she wants and over, let's say, 1000 years it becomes so powerful it determines how you live your life. And what do we have here? Another religion.
When you're dealing with wrongs and rights in the world, it's very hard to factually state something as "wrong" or "right," considering we're not all one but rather individuals who have different beliefs. I'm not saying what you believe is wrong, but I'm not saying it's right either. You can go ahead and believe you're above all of us (maybe you didn't intend it, but you sure as hell make it seem so), but when all is said and done, judging things as wrong or right in your life won't seem so important when you're dying.
That wasn't a threat. >_>

I too have problems with premarital sex like 2cool, but it is more of an observation of people whom have done it unlike 2cool's Jewhristian upbringing. Everybody I know who had premarital sex lives went right down the drain. Even my parents aren't as right for each other as they say, cause they argue a lot, but they love each other I suppose more than anybody else that I know that had sex. My cousin has a son with another coming on the way, and it was apparent that her life has taken a small turn for the worse...Not saying that I do not like her son, for he is pretty good for a toddler. And I know that these are not the best examples to judge from and people are different, but I can't help but think that it is bad...

I do believe in God, Jesus, the whole nine yards. However:
1) If you are truly sorry for any wrongdoing you make in this life, God will forgive you when it's your time to go. Benevolence is win.
2) The Bible is old. Like, really old. Things have changed in the 2000+ years since its writing. We are in need of a serious update (Can I has Bible 2.0, plz?).
3) The Bible contradicts itself.
4) If we were to follow the Bible exactly, then every time somebody caught their spouse cheating on them, they'd have to kill their spouse. Slavery would still be allowed, considering there are verses within the Bible that list when it's OK to punish your slaves and what is considered acceptable punishment. For a book that is supposed to be representative of a benevolent, loving God, it's quite violent at times.
5) Following the Old Testament word for word technically makes you Jewish.
6) This is 2008, not 1492.
I am not going to follow the advice of a book that says "be good to your fellow man" one minute and then tells you it's perfectly fine to kill them the next. I believe in God, but I believe that as long as I acknowledge his omnipotence, that he's the one who's responsible for me being here, that I treat all of his creations, big and small with respect, and that I don't do anything ungodly horrible, that the Bible does not apply to me.
Also, I consider myself a man of science, and as such, it's kind of an instinct of ours to propagate the species. Marriage is an institution that we humans created for our own purpose.
And don't act all high and mighty and think you're better than us "sinners" here because you believe everything the Bible says. You're just as much of an insignificant speck in this universe as every other human, God or not. Arrogance FTL.

I will. God forgives, after all. I'd like to think that I haven't really done anything overly bad in my life so far, and I don't really see myself doing anything too horribly in the future. Not to mention, when I end up talking to God, I have a lot of questions to ask him.
TL;DR - The Bible is a flawed document.
I don't really see why I typed all this, considering that you'll just ignore it, mark me as a sinner, and call it a day.
