I thought this was between Sony and Microsoft? I personally feel that Microsoft can survive without too much overseas support. (I think you're mostly referring the Japan itself). Microsoft has some solid games in its future (Halo 3 is a personal fave) and that do have the potential to take a large share of the western market. Not to mention the fact that Microsoft Live service is the most solid of the 3 consoles as of right now.

ms has solid support in the western market a loyal fanbase and yes the most solid online service right now, but i dont think they will ever win realistically with basically an extra continent supporting everyone but them....i just have my doubts.

Microsoft is working with Namco to develop games that will appeal to Japanese gamers but I think that is flailing. All i can say is that I will hold on to my 360 just for Halo 3. Plus you never know what other gems may be unearthed.
