Ever make up a cool riff and later on hear that same exact riff in a song?

Only reason why i'm asking this is because I just listened to an album that came out today and in one of the songs, the beginning riff is almost exactly the same as one I made up 2 years ago. Only difference was that they were palm-muting it. It pissed me off a bit >_>

I had made up this one riff, and then when I showed it to my friend he was like "Dude that sounds just like the song Scream Aim Fire". I had never heard the song (dont listen to BFMV, lol), and I was like "DAMMIT", lol.

I usually hear a song, make a riff, and then realize that the riff sounds similar to the song. Damn subconscious. >_<
