this is what my outlook is as of right now, the 360 has the online community some exclusives, the ps3 has the HUGE sony fanbase that COULD become a gigantic online community, but who knows, the ps3 has better graphics a bigger HDD and the contoller is sweet ( no matter if u think they jacked it from ninty ) the built in wi-fi and all the same multi-media capabilities as the 360, as of right now though i dunno if the extra edge the ps3 has is big enough to make me spend 200 dollars more..

Regarding the premium package for Sony:
"If you're simply looking to save games and rely on your HDD to ease loading times, the 20 GB will likely be sufficient. However, those that want to purchase a lot of episodic content or microtransactions should go with the larger model."-Game Informer, Issue 159
You may want to take that into consideration. I personally wouldn't mind owning all three next gen consoles but I'm pretty sure that I won't be able to afford it.

^_^ trust me my research has been done, a ton of it actually, if i'm gonna spend 499.99 + tax is like 540...why not spend the extra 100? it makes no sense.

Agreed. It really comes down to your personal preference. Which exclusive titles that each comany offers are you most interested in? Pick the system that you'll enjoy the most and the one that you'll get the most play out of.
