I went to sleep late last night (7:25 AM); walked down the stairs into the basement and onto the couch where I layed. I was half-asleep when my sister came down to grab something and get on her way to work. The light was off.
When she came down, she turned on the light and I was blinded by it, probably the worst I've ever been blinded in my life. Lack of sleep may have been the cause.
This is where it gets interesting.
Right before she turned on the light, miliseconds before, while my eyes were still closed I saw a camera, and then came a flash (which came from the light being turned on). This has happened to all of us before, most times while we're dreaming. Your nephew is crying and it is somehow incorporated into your dream, and then you wake up to find it's your nephew crying.
My brain tells me I saw a camera, and then a light flash, causing me to open my eyes quickly. I don't agree with my brain, however.
After that, I started to think, "I swear to God I saw the flash, and then the camera, which would be reversed of what my brain told me I saw.
I actually know for a fact that I saw the flash first, and then the camera. What I'm wondering is, did my brain see the same thing, but put it in an order that I would understand, considering for all of us we usually see a camera first, and then a flash when we are taking pictures?
Maybe our brains do this all the time (putting things in the correct order that we are used to; camera then flash, not flash then camera), and maybe time is irrelevant. Maybe sometimes we catch it, but most of the time we don't. ___

I have had the same experience. One night i was dreaming and i could have sworn there was a semi coming right at me, honking its horn to warn me to get out of the way. I slowly open my eyes to realize it was a dream, only to hear the sound of a semi honking its horn outside my window ( on the street of course).
Maybe not quite the same thing, but i could have sworn my brain anticipated something like that. ___

Of course they do. Like when you're reading that stupid email that has every single word misspelled but the first and last letters of each word are still in the same spot, but you can still read it without trouble? Except this time, your mind did it to you while you were in a less alert state and did it inside your mind rather than while you were reading.
If that makes sense at all. ___
