Arch Linux? Never heard of it. Is it a derivative of one of the major distributions, or is it it's own thing? |
It's it's own thing.
Basically, you only have on your system what you really need. During install, you specify your modules, manually edit your .conf(s), and install all your needed apps.
Its very fast, and very small: you can have a full system in around 400 MB. Which makes it awesome. |
Interesting.
That would come in handy when I'm setting up Wine and ndiswrapper. |
Lol. Is ndiswrapper such a chore on whatever distro you're running? Arch is the only distro that had wireless working out-of-the-box for me, so you might wanna give it a try.
And I hate Wine. It's nice, but it has little or no support for games. Which means you go get a torrent of Cedega. :D ___

Linux drivers haven't been written for my card for any distro. Lazy driver writers.
I don't use Linux for games, I have a partition with WinXP for that, but Wine helps me run the little things. ___

Well, when you have a tiny hard drive, and can't stand Winblows (I.E. me), then you get Linux + Cedega. ___

Sorry, can't. I have no need for 1TB of space, so I haven't looked into it.
However, I'd go with a familiar brand name, like Western Digital. ___
