What are your views on the government forcing us to be "politically correct". I personally think its shit. People are bitching and complaining about little things that "offend" them because its not of their religion/race or whatever. Its like "O NOES HE/SHE SAID GOD ON TV OMG IM OFFENDED IM CALLING THE FCC!!" Or its "OMG THERES A CHRISTMAS TREE IT SAYS CHRISTMAS PEOPLE GET OFFENDED WE CALL IT HOLIDAY TREE NOW" Also, whenever I see a menorah outside of a building, does anyone complain? NO, but when theres a Christmas tree I hear of complaints to take it down because its "offending people". Thats why I think the whole political correctness thing is fucked up. I think that in the pursuit of trying to make things balanced and equal to everyone, they end up persecuting the christians only.
Another thing that really grinds my gears is this little story I heard a while ago that just made me say "WTF?!". In some state (I dont remember the state exactly, nor can I find the article again), there was this new law passed that teachers in public schools should grade in blue or green ink only, instead of red, because red was "too discouraging". I was like "wtf?" and then they showed all these bullshit psychological statistics on how the color red affects our brains and that sort of stuff. But what Im angry about is that the government is trying to turn us into a bunch of pussies. Its the color red, big fucking deal. People have lived with getting red marks on their homework for decades, and if their parents could deal with it, then they can too.
So, basically people need to either suck it up and stop being pussies, or gtfo this country if they dont like it. ___
This country was founded on freedom of religion. Christmas trees are part of a big religion, if you don't like it please ignore it. The tree can't offend you for it can't do anything to hurt or offend you. Christians aren't going up to muslum people and hitting them with Christmas trees so they aren't offencive. Saying god is another thing, I respect your religion please respect mine, god has done nothing to you so stop acting like he has for he is a different religion. Political differences is what this country is and I feel if you don't want people to be different then you move to a different place. Here in America we should be free to do whatever we please as long as it doesn't hurt or offend others. ___

Some of that stuff is just ridiculous. I mean, red is probably the best colour to use, because it sticks out. Political correctness is BS. Its like our whole lives should be a series of awkward apologies for things we may have accidentally implied while making a joke or just talking out of our asses. Give us a break. People are going to offend each other from time to time. Get over it.
I also hate double standards. For example, if you criticize a person's political beliefs, its called a debate. If you criticize a person's beliefs about history or geology or economics or whatever, its still perfectly okay. We learn more by questioning everyone's beliefs about various topics.
But question a person's religious beliefs, and a frickin' holy war breaks out. Why the double standard? Beliefs are beliefs. If someone wants to be taken seriously, they should have evidence or at least some sound reasoning to hold up their beliefs about ANY topic. If they don't, I reserve the right to laugh at them, just like I'd laugh at anyone who told me they believe that combustion does not require oxygen or that Mexico was actually behind Pearl Harbor. ___ \m/(><)\m/
