Squoze: Greg Norman should not leading the British Open. Perhaps if it wasn’t for his previous victories the British Open, maybe he isn’t playing the British Open, but with 18 holes to go , Greg Norman is in position to claim his first major title since 1993. Norman, a two-time Open winner who married tennis great Chris Evert three weeks ago, got off to a shaky start with bogeys on three of his first six holes.

He pulled himself back together and finished the day two over and that’s good enough to put him on the final group on Sunday. It seems to be a the year for the gray hairs on the PGA Tour as Norman is 53, Still there are people who want to talk about the Greg Norman divorce , yada , yada , yada, This is as good a story as Tiger Woods and Rocco Mediate in this years U.S Open in my opinion. I say let the man play golf , and enjoy what might be his swan song, and let Chris Evert tag along. Leading the British Open at age 53 is an amazing accomplishment.
