I'd say its worth it even with the Wii being backwards-compatible, remember that we are going to have to wait longer than other countries unless you import. |
Hmm I'm not sure about that because the DS Lite came out in NZ a whole 10 days before it came out in North America. Perhaps we will see a familiar pattern with future Nintendo products?

Yeah.
Well, my mum doesn't know anything "But you have a games machine already!"
But my dad, he's more into graphics>gameplay: "You have a $6k computer that can produce the best graphics onto a 17" LCD screen and you want to waste your money playing games on a tiny screen with crap kiddy graphics?" (that was about the DS Lite). |
That has to suck, will you get the WIi? |
Yeah, getting a Wii and a PS3.
(Unless the PS3 really really is not worth it. I'm sure it will have great gfx/games when it comes out, it's just looking REAL bad right now) |

Yeah but the Gamecube took 6 months, its different for the DSL because its does'nt have to deal with region coding and such.

Oh...
So, according to it's history... We will expect the Wii to hit NZ around June 2007?? That's like... A whole year from now. Thus a good reason to get a GCN. I wish it was free. |

Nintendo said around thanksgiving a while ago, don't know if they are going to stick with that but they released the Gamecube in November in the US I think, and we got it in May.
Hopefully they'll do a worldwide launch like Sony, really derives away from the whole Nintendo loves the consumer thing some love to believe. |

Yes.
Also, being a NZer and all that, do you reckon I should sell my PS2 games over trademe or should I bring them into EBGames or GamesPlus or something? Which would get me more money, do you think? |

Definitly Trademe, unless you have a broken PS2 in which case Gamesman pay more than anyone of trademe would.
It may be a bit more work but I'd say its worth it. |

Alright, trademe it is.
By the way, AWESOME, I'm allowed to get the GCN! :D My dad told me "Don't tell me what new game thing you want to get, but with the money you get from selling the PS2 games, you can buy it."
If I told him it was a GCN he'd probably freak. |
