| It's not so much the graphics, it's the fact that this game is a DS port with Co-op and new levels slapped on it. I'll gladly pay $30 for it but I have a feeling it will be much more than that. |

And I guess NSMB for the DS was a port of the original Super Mario Bros for NES with new graphics and levels slapped on. ___

No, New Super Mario Bros. on the DS was an entirely new game built from the ground up. It included new levels and graphics but also a new multiplayer mode, unlockables, new items and abilities, new physics, an overworld map, new music, and etc. What New Super Mario Bros. Wii is is a lazy rehash. Sure it has 4 player co-op and new levels, but from the looks of the E3 demo it looks extremely familiar.
Maybe I have high expectations but it seems that Nintendo is focusing more on last gen re-releases with motion controls (New Wii Play Control series anyone?) and compilations of last-gen games (Metroid Prime Trilogy anyone?). Maybe some of my criticism towards this game is fueled by my anger of constantly being screwed as a consumer. I have a gamecube and already have most of the games being re-released, so give me something new dammit.

So since Super Mario World and Mario 3 look the same, they're the same.
All the Mario games are the same thing; just some fucking guy jumping around. Every game after the original Mario Bros. is a rehash, and Mario Bros. was just a rehash of Jumpman. Sure, they add things, as you said, but did you really buy New Super Mario Bros. for a fucking overworld map? No, you bought it for the excellent formula that is Mario, and this looks no different. So stop yo' bitchin'.

I never said rehashes were a bad thing. They have just seem to be a little less new nowadays. Honestly I can see this being on DS rather than Wii, it's just that simple. Sure it's Mario, and it will be fun, but I'd rather see a whole new game in Mario style.
Look at the original Mario trilogy on NES. They are all simillar in a way, yet every one has an huge amount of aspects that seperate them from eachother. That is what I want to see, not a game with "Wii" at the end of the title and new levels and options.
Well that's all I have to say, seems everyone is hyped about this so I'll leave it be.

And have you seen the game in person yet? Because every website says the game looks great in person. ___
