I'm somewhat ambivalent with the health care reform. One one hand, I like that Mr. President Obama is tackling this issue, not simply because this was one of his issues that he promised the voters, but more because it was a necessity that we would have to do. Right now, Medicare and Medicaid are not cutting it for some people, especially my father, who seems to end up in the hospital almost once a year for back operations and yet still wants to work outside with power tools. Those costs can accumulate very quickly. And then there is my grandma, who has obtained a shoulder surgery about six months ago and this seems to have weakened her to an extent, for she tires quickly now and days.
Yet, on the other hand, what worries me is that Obama is rushing this. He shouldn't try to rush something of this magnitude. This could be the most significant piece of legislation for this term. If this ends up as a *, it would seriously wreck his chance for re-election. Furthermore, I personally wished that there was some sort of clause that would lead to the establishment of more research labs for medical research. Or some sort of federal medical research fund/grant. That would probably lower the cost overtime. ___ My DA story hub thingy
