Honestly, I thought that it was going to be a shit game that they made for the DS just to cash in on the more successful console games (like CoD4 for the DS). ___ "I thought you might be worried, about the security...of your shit."

Nintendo's eventually going to find that their Blue Ocean strategy has a snag -- eventually, they'll run out of new casual gamers to find, and although it'll be pretty easy at first, they'll eventually find that they won't be able to appease the market forever, and they'll also find out that they can't appease the more seasoned gamer by just milking an existing series, and third parties are too busy counting the jew gold they've made to even care. That's one thing that's always bugged me about Nintendo a bit -- they don't really bother to look into new IPs, and third parties just crank out shitty minigamefests or something else with no real depth to it, and it's kind of depressing, because it's slowly spreading. Sony and Microsoft have definitely taken notice (and for good reason), I mean, Sony says that they're going to be focusing on bringing more family-oriented titles to the PStriple this year (although they still need to focus on getting more units out [lower your prices, goddammit]), and Microsoft and the third parties have already started to crank out more "family oriented" games. While Nintendo has definitely opened the door to gaming for many people, both them and the few third parties that support them have also basically given the more serious gamers a giant "FUCK YOU", although it's always sort of been that way ever since the end of the N64/PSX era. I mean, I'd only play my GC and Wii every once in a while when they were my only consoles. I didn't get serious until I got a PS2 and saw just how much better the selection was, and especially this generation, since I own all three systems and both handhelds.
If Nintendo doesn't try to play catchup next console round, they'll probably be in trouble. ___

I agree with BigNig on this one, as I've said the same thing quite a few times before XD
though I will say that the Gamecube never let me down, sure I don't own as many games for it as I do my SNES, but I've enjoyed every game I've purchased for it. so I have about 41 games for my gamecube that I really like, as opposed to my Wii where I own like...5 games total? maybe 6 or 7? I've never really seen many good games coming out D:
personally, the way I see it, Ninty will continually make money from casuals who'll buy anything, and real gamers are going to get shafted by them
the playstation brand will die out real fast if they do another PS3 thing "Let's make a really big console with a blew-ray thingie, and let's make it WAAAAAAY overpriced!!!"
Microsoft will either dominate the market since they'll be the last one standing, or just shift everything over to PC since alot of PC gamers use a Microsoft operating system anyway, I don't really know how that works, it seems to me like Microsoft's making money from PC and XBox games <_<
and PC gamers? well, they're safe for now, but eventually every other company will pull a Capcom and stick it up the PC Gamer's ass too amirite?
NINTY?! WHY HATH THOU FORSAKEN US?!?!? ___

Hooold on there.
Yes the PS3 is expensive, but I would not call it overpriced. ___ "I thought you might be worried, about the security...of your shit."

For what it is, it's actually pretty fairly priced. I heard something that the profit margin for the PS3 is pretty low, considering that it is pretty expensive to manufacture. There is a reason they wont lower the prices, and that's because if they make it any lower they will make even less profit than what little they are getting or not make any at all. ___
