I have officially returned from E3!

[ Category: E3 ]

Hey there Broken Controllers! I have officially returned from E3 with plentiful coverage and interviews with the producers and developers of smash hit games and sleeper hits alike.

Unfortunately we were not able to go to every single interview we scheduled, such as the Nintendo, Microsoft, and Activision interviews. But for the amount of time allocated in a 3 day period, I can safely say that any interviews we weren't able to attend were not done without reason.

Over the next week, I'll be posting up various interviews and exclusive in-game footage on some of the most anticipated titles this year. So stay tuned and keep an eye out for some awesome videos!

10 World Premiere Video Game Announcements Continued - 6-10

[ Category: E3 ]

Continuing this list with game number 6 is Forza Motorsport 3. Available in the game is full customization over your car's aesthetic and performance peripherals. Not to mention a complete video editor.

At number 7, although it has been announced before, today we're seeing never before seen cutscene and gameplay footage. In this new game, you will receive two new features that Spartans like Master Chief don't get to use. One being a silencer for your gun, and the other being a night-vision visor.

Following this awesome footage, the 8th announcement is officially Halo Reach. From the teaser, I literally have no idea what awaits us, but it has me interested.

The 9th announcement here is Alan Wake. It seems like a horror survival game surrounding the story of a writer named Alan Wake. It doesn't seem like just any horror survival game, there are demons possessing inanimate objects, whispers coming from forests, and of course your stereotypical Axe Men. What horror game would be complete without a man skewering you up with a Chainsaw or Axe?

And the final announcement of the big 10 is Metal Gear Solid: Rising, a Metal Gear Solid game revolving around Raiden.

With these announcements, Microsoft is bound to have a fantastic year!

Xbox 360 Motion Control: You ARE the controller!

[ Category: E3 ]

As I mentioned weeks ago, Microsoft is coming out with a camera/microphone combo to act as a full body controller. Of course at first glance it looks awesome, but in practice how well would this even work? Seems to me like Eye Toy 360 is just on the horizon, and it isn't going to miss a chance to plunge your wallet.

10 World Premiere Video Game Announcements

[ Category: E3 ]

The first of 10 games to be world premiere announcements has just been presented, and it is called Shadow Complex. It looks like a side-scrolling Metroid clone at first glance, but it seems to have a more 3D concept to its gameplay.

The second game is called Joy Ride, which will be a racing game that basically uses your 360 Avatars. Really it doesn't seem all that special.

Crackdown 2 is the third of this awesome lineup, not much more than a simple teaser though.

The fourth of these games is Left 4 Dead 2! And man this game looks BADASS! Can you say CHAINSAAAAAAAAAAAW?!

Following up as the fifth announcement is Splinter Cell Conviction. An epic teaser trailer of epic proportions. With this teaser they're taking a chance to show us some awesome gameplay of an interrogation in a bathroom. Nothing better than face to urinal impact.

The list will continue in the next entry.

Final Fantasy XIII Gameplay Footage: Same Demo from Japan?

[ Category: E3 ]

Square Enix is presenting Final Fantasy XIII for the Xbox 360 now and it seems that all the footage shown was the same as presented in the Japanese PS3 Demo weeks ago.

Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 Gameplay Footage

[ Category: E3 ]

As I type this, they're displaying the all new Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare 2. They wasted no time jumping right into gameplay without hesitation, so it looks like they've got nothing to hide. The first few minutes depict you and Captain MacTravis scaling a snowy mountain. Right now they're jumping into gunplay, and I must say it looks like a total addiction is coming our way.

And two map packs will be available for DLC on launch.

Tony Hawk Ride Board Finalized

[ Category: Microsoft News ]

New gameplay footage as well as footage of the board in use has been displayed at E3 and it just might have potential! There are different levels of difficulty, so this board just might have a bit more depth than meets the eye.

E3 kicked off with The Beatles Rock Band

[ Category: Microsoft News ]

The Beatles Rock Band was the first game to be presented at the Microsoft E3 Press Conference. I don't necessarily see any new or revealing information about this new announcement. I mean sure, the Beatles are great, and so is Rock Band, but its a bit old.

And wow, what do you know? It's Paul McCartney and Ringo Star. They both literally seem to have no idea what is going on...

Qore Lets Slip the First Look at PSP Go

[ Category: Sony ]
[  Mood: Very Happy ]

"GamersConsoleNetwork scored a big scoop this morning, pulling the first images of the PSP Go (running LittleBigPlanet) out of the latest edition of Qore, which apparently went live early.

On top of that, someone managed to film the video and place it on YouTube. That's below (with bad audio).

The video reveals Sony's plans for new PSP games, offers up hardware specs and when gamers will be able to get their hands on the PSP Go. Highlights include:

• Gran Turismo, LittleBigPlanet, Jak & Daxter and Metal Gear Solid are all either confirmed or mentioned.
• The Go's 16 gigs of flash memory and bluetooth support ("You can also tether it to your cell phone,") are touted.
• In discussing the PSP Go's video-playing capability, it sounds like the rental service through PSN will extend to the PSP Go.
• PSP Go will not replace the PSP-3000; the 3000 will still be kept on the market.
• The PSP Go will arrive this fall.
• It's 43 percent lighter than the PSP-3000
• It has a 3.8-inch screen
"

With the leakage of this information, it seems Sony has put a fair amount of effort more than Nintendo into their latest handheld. This actually looks like a profitable marketing scheme. So much that I may even buy one myself.... >_> Don't tell my DS lite.
