Wow. This'll be great. That said... I'm actually kinda scared thinking of playing the random wifi mode... I'm not that bad, but I really don't think it would be much fun to play one of those crazy guys that can do all sorts of weird techniques like throw combos. Have you ever tried that, where you throw a guy and then immediately grab him and throw him again over and over? I've done it once, and then I only got in one extra throw... I saw a vid on YouTube or something where a guy throw-combo'd another guy from 0% all the way over 300%. Freaking crazy.

I'm not worried about Sonic abuse on Wi-Fi. I'm worried about Fox. Reflector shield is way overpowered.

They aren't announcing unlockable characters officially, and Luigi and Jigglypuff have both been unlockables throughout the first two games (or at least I think they have...). Ness also hasn't been officially announced, so he's probably an unlockable, too, since they said all of the characters from the original are returning.

Entrants PM'd them to BigN. Either that or you look at the brackets... If you're asking how we'll know if I do the brackets then we won't know. That's why I suggested we move it back.

No. Not unless I take over the tournament and then I don't really need to know anyways since I can't make the brackets show the pokemon. Do you guys want me to take over?

...And I'm back with an hour to spare, and with a question:

Does level 50 set put pokemon that are below level 50 at level 50?

Edit: Personally, I'd like it if anyone with reliable internet would hit the chat room thing up there so that we could talk on it and stuff. I like to be able to say things to my opponent during the match but don't like voicechat, mostly because I dislike telephones. As to why I dislike telephones... I don't know. I just don't like them.

That said, you still can do it. You'd just have 100 in five stats and then 10 in another. Not really a very good way to train a pokemon, though.

Also, I think you should put in some training patterns. The ones that are simplest to use and understand are:

252, 252, 4 (good for sweepers who need max atk/s.atk and max speed. The 4 means you can help to iron out issues with def or s.def or give it some more HP. This also works for walls that don't need a lot of HP or sponges who don't need a lot of def or s.def depending on what type of sponge they are.)

252, 129, 129 (A pretty good one for walls or baton passers. 252 hp or maybe speed if it's a baton passer, then 129 def and s.def. You can also use this for tanks with 252 atk or s.atk and 129 in both of their defenses. Also works for "agility sweepers" who only need 129 in speed tops and probably don't need speed at all. Instead put the 129 in your def and s.def then watch speed sky-rocket when you use agility. Works pretty well for mixed sweepers, too, but mixed sweepers suck.)

128, 128, 128, 128, 4 (This is for someone who is feeling indecisive about a tank or a baton passer. Not sure if they want to jeopardize their baton-passer's speed so they make it 128 and then do 128 for all of their defensive stats. Also works for more balanced tanks by putting 128 in all three defensive stats and another 128 in an attack stat. The 4 goes wherever you want it to)

The first two are usually the best. These are by far not the only options, but if you want to go with something else then you should use a stat calculator to be sure that your stats will turn out the way you want them to, otherwise you may wind up with a pokemon that isn't all that it can be. Try to get a nature that's + whatever stat you want 252 ev's in because that means you get max benefit from those EV's.

Then just do something simple. When you decide you want to use a new guy, identify two, three, or four stats that you want to be high. Give it ten vitamins for all of those stats, then just do whatever. It won't have the same impact as total EV training, but it'll be a more useful pokemon than if you just let your EV's go all over the place.

Is this game a wii game? If so, I won't be in.

Wow, just look at how great it is that we're bringing in more members with our "content."

Why, if this keeps up, we may get two or three new members a week, each looking to play a different online game, each leaving before the next member who wants to play joins. How useful. >_>

Might as well switch it with a Pachirisu or a Chatot.

Yeah, and levitate is a good ability, but Rotom has horrible base stats and a pretty crummy movepool. The thing is about on par with chatot, although comparing it to pachirisu is a bit harsh.

That said, Chatot rules so much harder than Rotom ever could because of its chatter attack.

So now the tournament is during dinner time for those of us in the Central timezone or the Eastern timezone... I don't think that's much better, really. >_>

9 PM CST (10 EST, 8 MST, 7 PST) should work. It works well for the CST and MST'ers, and only shafts EST and PST a bit by making them stay up a bit late or maybe have dinner a bit earlier than usual (respectively). I think it's the best time to make sure everyone's at home and available, although I think it's better to have it late-ish at night (Some time between 7-10 CST) on a weekend so that there's a good chance that everyone is at home and able to play.

Or - even better - we run this tournament with the true flexibility that having it online affords: instead of having it all at one time, people play through their matches all day (or even two or three days, go nuts!). For example, say round one is me and tanooki, madhatter and alistair, and tanookisbro and so64. Tanooki and I play our game at about 5:30 CST because we're both on then, Madhatter plays Alistair about an hour later, and so 64 played tanookisbro already at about 5:00. Get what I'm trying to say?

Now war and killing were unfamiliar concepts to the elves, but death was not. They could understand that their friends were dead, but they couldn't understand why. End chapter one

Chapter two: On shelves this yesterday.

Noodles was in the library when he saw this book.

Now, Dirt was a complete imbecile, hence being able to put up with being named Dirt (not a proper name for an elf at all, really), and Noodle only hung out with him because he pitied him, and right now he was too happy to pity anything, so he handed Dirt one of the failed prototypes for his new fireworks to play with and sent him away.

I'll PM my team as soon as I decide who to take out for my legend...

Also, why no hold items? That seems weird.

What about Giratina? He's even more over-powered than Dialga or Palkia since his stats are more obviously suited to a certain thing instead of being spread out...
