Chinese surgeons have performed the world's first penis transplant on a man whose organ was damaged beyond repair in an accident (involving Whadu) this year. The incident left the man with a 1cm-long stump with which he was unable to urinate or have sexual intercourse. "His quality of life was affected severely," said Dr Weilie Hu, a surgeon at Guangzhou General Hospital.

Doctors spent 15 hours attaching a 10cm penis to the 44-year-old patient after the parents of a brain-dead man half his age agreed to donate their son's organ.

The surgical team claims the operation was a success. After 10 days, tests revealed the organ had a rich blood supply and the man was able to urinate normally.

Although the operation was a surgical success, surgeons said they had to remove the penis two weeks later. "Because of a severe psychological problem of the recipient and his wife, the transplanted penis regretfully had to be cut off," Dr Hu said. An examination of the organ showed no signs of it being rejected by the body.

Jean-Michel Dubernard, the French surgeon who performed the world's first face transplant on a woman who had been attacked by a dog this year, said psychological factors were a serious issue for many patients receiving certain "allografts", or organs from donors. "Psychological consequences of hand and face allografts show that it is not so easy to use and see permanently a dead person's hands, nor is it easy to look in a mirror to see a dead person's face," he wrote in the journal. "Clearly, in the Chinese case the failure at a very early stage was first psychological. It involved the recipient's wife and raised many questions."

I thought not being able to afford a Wii wouldn't matter to me this much. I've been waiting years, what's another few weeks? But I was wrong. Just knowing that around 500,000 people have bought it already just gets me sad. I never was this obsessed with the Wii before, the fact that there are loads of people playing right now changed my whole perspective.

Another thing getting me down is that I was wrong about not preordering/worrying about lines. It didn't seem like I'd need to preorder (not that I had any money back in October) or to camp out. And I'm hearing shit on so many forums that those in line for days had to leave empty handed. And not only can I not afford a Wii, but even if I could I wouldn't be able to get one. I'm starting to wonder if I'll have to wait until after Christmas to get one, which would suck ass.

The only thing that could cheer me up right now is to know that the people whom I hate the most didn't get a Wii either. So come on, who's with me?

Oh, and about getting a 360 instead of a Wii. Couple of weeks ago, my spaniard compadre got Xbox Live. Now, even though I used to own an Xbox 1, I never had Live, which is why I didn't want a 360 back last year. Because I never knew how awesome it was to play Xbox online. Now, I know the Wii will have online support, but still, the 360 has a lot more online-friendly games. Including Gears, which is fucking awesome online. Plus, they've got a lot of other games that I want, and more that I want that aren't out yet. And one more thing is the fact that the controller is...just a controller. Yeah, the Wiimote is new, but that doesn't mean games with traditional controls aren't fun.

I'll probably end up getting both, but I kinda want a 360 before Wii. I dunno, and since you guys are all Nintendouches you'll all try and talk me out of it. But hey, at least I managed to squeeze in a sex joke before.

Well, I was chilling with my friend at his house when I decided to go downstairs for a mother's-room panty raid, while my friend was playing his 360. I was face deep in a hamper of stench when suddenly my friend yelled from his room upstairs. "I GOT THE THREE RINGS OF DEATH!" To which I replied "HAH?" I ran upstairs and discovered his 360 was broken. Soon after he developed a sense of reality, he realized the realness of the situation (for real). He knew exactly what had happened. I lul'd at him, he yelled some more. He called his mom then, and explained, somehow, that his console broke and it wasn't his fault. He also mentioned about my mischeivings in her underwear drawers. He soon called Microsoft and they said they'll send him a box in ten days. He will then put the system in the box and send it back, and a new one will arrive in a shitload of weeks.
