Metroid Prime 2: Echoes

This is a thread that was a lot of fun on another forum I go to, so I thought I'd bring it here.

Basically what you do is make a wish, and the next person has to grant the wish, yet add some sort of twist to it that makes the wish go wrong, and then that person makes a wish, and another person grants it, and so on. I'll start:

Yeah, you all know me as a Mac user, but my grandma's computer is a 7 year-old Dell running Windows 2000. :| This is really annoying for a Mac user like me...
I try to upgrade it to an at least tolerable version of Windows, but this damn version of Windows is not a supported upgrade path. :x

You won't believe what happend the other day! My mom confiscated my old DS (because she thought I was playing it instead of my Lite). She hid it in our oven, because it was like, 115 degrees outside and she had no plans on using it, plus she tought it was the "perfect" hiding place. Then, she decided to make something for dinner, but it needed the oven to cook it. My mom totally forgot my DS was in there and it got FRIED!!!!!!!! :shock: Ugh, it was horrible, the plastic casing completely melted away, it was welded shut, and the ports were you insert games were also welded together. THANK GOD, that I took all the games out and put them in my DS Lite before all this happened.

I took a picture of it in case anyone want's to see it, but I don't know how to post it on the forums.

Well, the time has finally come! Tomorrow is the MP:H Tournament! :D All participants get with their combatnants, and duke it out! Simply post here who won and who lost, and report any tourney rule breaking here.

What are your views on the government forcing us to be "politically correct". I personally think its shit. People are bitching and complaining about little things that "offend" them because its not of their religion/race or whatever. Its like "O NOES HE/SHE SAID GOD ON TV OMG IM OFFENDED IM CALLING THE FCC!!" Or its "OMG THERES A CHRISTMAS TREE IT SAYS CHRISTMAS PEOPLE GET OFFENDED WE CALL IT HOLIDAY TREE NOW" Also, whenever I see a menorah outside of a building, does anyone complain? NO, but when theres a Christmas tree I hear of complaints to take it down because its "offending people". Thats why I think the whole political correctness thing is fucked up. I think that in the pursuit of trying to make things balanced and equal to everyone, they end up persecuting the christians only.

Another thing that really grinds my gears is this little story I heard a while ago that just made me say "WTF?!". In some state (I dont remember the state exactly, nor can I find the article again), there was this new law passed that teachers in public schools should grade in blue or green ink only, instead of red, because red was "too discouraging". I was like "wtf?" and then they showed all these bullshit psychological statistics on how the color red affects our brains and that sort of stuff. But what Im angry about is that the government is trying to turn us into a bunch of pussies. Its the color red, big fucking deal. People have lived with getting red marks on their homework for decades, and if their parents could deal with it, then they can too.

So, basically people need to either suck it up and stop being pussies, or gtfo this country if they dont like it.

My mom and I are going back to Best Buy tomorrow to pick up our hopfully not POS anymore printer. A couple days ago I found a $100 Best Buy gift card that I never used, and it expires in 2 months, so hopefully i can convince my mom to let me use it. Wish me luck >_<

If you didn't already know, there are quite a few Sony fanboys/Nintendo haters in my digital video class. I brought my Wii to school yesterday, so that I could film my commercial. My teacher wanted to play it, so I hooked it up. We played Wii Sports, and all the Sony fanboys in my class started getting into it, and they were saying how fun it was. I think that they have finally seen the light... :D

I've been seeing people of this clan a lot. What does NS stand for? How come it has so many members?

Ok, I got to the battle zone, and there are only a few areas right? Well, I can only access the Fight area and Battle park. There are these people that are blocking the access to all the other areas, like Stark Mountain. They keep telling me to go visit the battle tower, but that's the thing, I have visited it and did just about everything i could there, but they still wont let me through T_T. How do I get past them?

Yeah, I started a gaming club at my school. Club sign-ups were today, and 3 sign-up sheets were filled up, front and back! :shock: I'm going to tell all the members about BC on our next meeting. Expect a lot of new members soon. Wink

I think that there should be a limit to how many members should be able to join BC. Maybe about 5000 members, maybe more. It's up to Whadu. This will keep BC a small community, but it will also allow BC to grow.
You are all thinking that I'm crazy right now and that BC will allow any number of people to join. Well, just listen for a sec, because this will help BC get more active members.

Ever notice how many "Dead members" there are? I look at the memberlist, and a great majority of the people on the list have not made a single post, and they have never visited the site since they've registered. (You see where I'm going with this? Wink

) After the limit of members is met, no more people will be able to join...right? Wrong. Once the limit has been met, the "dead members'" profiles will be deactivated to make way for new members. This system will "clean out" the dead members. What's the point of considering them as members if they don't participate? Once the member limit is met, there will be a "clean out" list made. This list will be made up of the members that have been inactive the longest. The first person to be "cleaned out" will, of course, be the member that has been inactive the longest. This person would be member # 8: Gweemz, who has 0 posts, and last visited on Jun. 23, 2006. This person has been inactive the longest, and will therefore be cleared from BC to make way for new members. Inactive members' profiles will continue to be deactivated as new members join in. After this system has been going for a while, there will absolutely be no dead members, only active ones.

This might not be fair, what if they were just busy, and didn't have time to participate? Well, before their profile is deactivated, an email will be sent to them, warning them that their profile will be deactivated soon. This will remind them that we still exist, and we want them to be a part of this community. If they do not make a post after 48 hours of receiving the email, their profile will be deactivated. They can always reregister if they miss the update.

So what do you think? Will this help BC get more active members?

I noticed that the BC title is now "Broken Controllers Message Boards". There is a problem. Since the change, BC has been blocked at my school, because there is the proxy filter "Message Boards". If the title can be changed back to what it was before, BC might get unblocked at my school. Thnx. 8)

And no one is here. Seriously, its freaking the shit out of me. I keep hearing footsteps from out in the hall (which has very creaky floors), and I got out to see who is there, but no one is there. All the rest of my family are either in the kitchen downstairs or in the living room downstairs watching TV. The living room is carpeted so no sound is made from footsteps, and the kitchen is on the other side of the house, and i wouldnt be able to hear any footsteps from that far with this music I have blasting.

It sounds like someone is pacing the hallway back and forth, because they sound like they are getting closer and then they sound distant, bu NO ONE IS THERE! Im ready to fucking run out of here. My heart is racing, and I feel very uneasy, and Im clutching a jar of holy water (im not kidding). Shit man, I hear them as im typing this... O_o

This is probably an easy question for most of you, but when I open the box of the Wii, I'll be like, "OMFG!!! I got a ******* Wii!! W00+!!!" Then I'll run around the house like a crazy person, then set up my brand new Wii to my 61" HD Plasma TV, and play for hours!!! :mrgreen:

I personally don't like how small the D-pad is. I have big thumbs, so it makes things kind of difficult for me. Other than that, the DS Lite is Nintendo's greates handheld system yet. :)

I was planning on hosting a Thanksgiving party in my town in AC:WW. It would take place the day before, or after Thanksgiving, which ever you prefer. All guests get a special 50,000 bells to be thankful for!

I plant a bag of bells with the golden shovel, wait 4 days, the tree grows, but the money doesn't! :x Why won't the tree grow money?! I wasted about 50,000 bells. :( :evil:

I was just thinking, what if the DS had an antennae that could increase its wireless range by some ridiculous distance? If those tiny Motorola walkie-talkies can have up to 18 miles of wireless range, just think of what they could do for the DS! It wouldn't be too expensive either, those walkie- talkies are about $50, but the range on the DS might be only about a mile or two, just so it doesn't make it too pricey. Wouldn't it be awsome if you can search for a wireless access point that is a few miles away?

If you think that this is a stupid idea, please don't make any negative comments. However, if you have any ideas to make this idea better feel free to post them.

I'm finally back home, and I finally have wifi, and I'm really depressed and bored out of my mind. So anyone up for a game of something? I don't care what. I have MKDS, MPH, AC:WW, SFC and Mario vs. DK 2. All my friend codes can be found in my extended profile.

I was thinking, since BC's first anniversary is coming up soon, we could have a wi-fi party. This can be for any game. There will be an AC:WW party being hosted at my town if anyone is interested (which you probably wont be since you'll all be playing damn pokemanz :>>: ). I just sort of noticed this. I noticed that many of the designs of Nintendo's consoles look suprisingly similar to that of designs of Apple's products. (Not that this is a problem, it's just something I noticed)

The first one that I noticed is that in May of 1996, Apple released 6 different colored iMacs. Later that year, Nintendo released these colored N64s. See the images below:

The other one that I noticed is that Apple released the iMac Cube sometime in July of 2000. In November of 2000, Nintendo released the Gamecube. See images below for comparison:

Next, in November of 2005 Apple released the iPod Video. In June of 2006, Nintendo released the DS lite. The design looked very similar to me.

I also believe that this design influenced the design of the PSP as well.

The last thing that I noticed is the design of the Wii, which I found sort of similar to that of the design of the new iMacs.

I'm not saying that Nintendo is copying Apple, I'm just saying that the designs of Apple's products inspired the designs of Nintendo's consoles, which I find to be a good thing because Apple has some great designs.

And I have no idea why. I cant sign in, I cant sign onto xbox.com, or anything. I was playing Force Unleashed and then I get randomly disconnected from XBL. I ran a connection test and my connection is fine except that it cant sign in to XBL. And according to a few friends, the servers arent down. Halp guys, Im freaking out.

I have about 32, that is, if the Game boy player disc counts. If it doesn't, then I have 31

DAMMIT! My mom and I went to Best Buy to get our POS printer fixed (if thats even possible, lol), and I immediately thought of getting pokemon Pearl. Well, they didnt have Pearl, just Diamond, so I was like "Oh well, I'll just get this for now". Then once I get it to the checkout counter, and took my wallet out of my pocket, my mom snatched it and said, "NO!" I was like "wtf!? Why not?!" And she just said "Because".

Ugh, I was going to pay for it with MY own money too.... so i dont see her problem. -_-

So when you get your Wii, what are you going to do with your Gamecube? It'll be pretty much useless since the Wii can play GC games. I have had too many memories with my cube, so I'm going to put it in a glass case in my gameroom, to serve as a memorial.

I have run into a predicament folks. As some of you probably know (and if you don't know, well now ya do), my b-day is in about a week. My mother has promised me one present of choice, and the selection is:

1) A Wii + a few games

2) An Xbox 360 Elite + Halo 3 and a few other games

3) Finally letting me have that free iPhone that I would get from the Apple Store.

The thing is I can only get ONE from this list. I've thought about it, came up with some pros and cons of having one or the other, but I still can't quite decide. Now, I assum that most of you will say get a Wii, but I want you to remember that I am a huge Halo fan, and I've been looking forward to Halo 3 for a LONG time (and right now I'm more hyped than ever about it). Also, I am in need of a cell phone, and it's about damn time I got one, plus it's free (excluding mothly phone charges, which i have to pay on my own). I want you to help me choose what you think I'll be happiest with until christmas when i can get the other things. (so i will be getting all of them either way, but I need to settle with one that will keep me amused until christmas) Also, please note that cost is not an issue, so if your reasoning not to get something is because it costs too much, I dont care I have the money.

So here is my list of pros and cons for each item:

1) Nintendo Wii + a few games of my choice:
-Games I will be getting:
1. Metroid Prime 3
2. Mario Party 8
3. LoZ:TP
4. Super Paper Mario
Pros:
- I will finally stop complaining that i dont have a Wii
- I can play with you guys over wi-fi once I get a new router (which might be next month)
- I can be ready for Brawl once it's released.

Cons:
-I will not have an Xbox 360, therefore cannot get Halo 3, which will suck since all my friends will have it and I wont.
- I will not have a cell phone, and resume my cell phoneless life where I have to find a payphone or annoy other people by asking to borrow their phones in order to contact my mom whenever she is late to pick me up from somewhere (which is all the time and it's really annoying)
- I cannot have the satisfaction of being one of the few people at my school who has an iPhone >_>

2) Xbox 360:
Games I will be getting:
-Halo 3 (the main reason I will be getting the 360, lol)
-Lost Planet
-Gears of War
-Bioshock
-Guitar Hero II
-Mass Effect

pros:
-Having Halo 3 and being able to play with all my friends on XBL (online co-op FTW!!!)
-I have an HD TV, so the games I get will look AWESOME
-Been wanting those other games, such as Gears for a while, and that's definitely a set of games that will keep me entertained until the holidays, unlike some of the Wii games which might get boring after a week.

cons:
-Will not have Wii, therefore cannot play over wifi with you guys, and I will continue to complain that I do not have a Wii, LOL
- (see reason for not having iPhone in previous section)

3) iPhone
pros:
-Will finally have a phone, which finally means I can keep in touch with my friends easily, plus make sure my mom is never late to pick me up from anywhere ever again until i am able to drive.
-It's FREE (excluding monthly phone payments)
-I've been in need of a new iPod for a while (I have a 1st gen iPod nano, and it's pretty beat up and has crappy battery life that lasts like 2 hours, also I'm really starting to fill it up with songs.
-Internetz wherever I go ftw
-Have the satisfaction of being one of few people at my school who has an iPhone, LOL, and also be able to brag because I got it for free. >_>

cons:
-(See reasons for not having Wii or Xbox in previous sections)
- I've heard of a few flaws with the iPhone (although no one has come into the Apple Store I work at complaining of a problem with one during my shift, nor has it happened to the few people I know at school who have one), and probably by the cruel laws of nature I'll get a defective one (but then again i can just get it replaced)

Yep, I'll have no wifi for the next 2 weeks, because I am at my grandma's right now, and the computer here uses Windows 2000, but XP is needed to use the wifi USB connector. I brought an upgrade disc of XP, but it's only an upgrade from Windows 98. :>>:

If you read my "Didn't see this coming..." thread, you know that I got a girlfriend. Well, she called me an hour ago, and we talked for a while. Then, I got the idea to ask her out, so I did. And... She said yes!

I'll be going on a date sometime between this Saturday and Wednesday! (I'd have an exact day, but i have no idea how busy I'll be).

There's only one problem... We can't decide on what to do, so does anyone have any suggestions on what we can do for our date? (please note that I'll only have about $80 on me, so don't suggest anything that'll be expensive.)

I noticed this feature on another forum I go on. They have a cool bbcode tag that allows you to show your gamertag card in your sig. It's kinda like those ones you can get from Mygamercard.net, but they are a bit fancier. I really like them, and I think they should be added to BC seeing how many XBL gamers we have here.

WeedTea and I have decided to form a band. We are called The Sexing Guns. The name is a combo of the names Sex Pistols and Guns N Roses. Sex Pistols + Guns N Roses = Sexing Guns.

And our genre is Classic Hard Jazz Phsychodelic Progressive Garage Metal. We already have 2 guitarists (me and weedtea), and we need 2 bassists, 2 drummers, and 2 of basically everything we can think of.

So all you musically talented people of BC, if you play an instrument, post what you play and you can be inducted into our band. (no need for any more guitarists though, although some acoustic and air guitarists would be nice)
