Most people likely skimmed over it because it came on KidsWB which is notorious for making crap shows that rarely last more than one season...unless it's anime that sucks and manages to stay on for like a decade.
1) It's not so much KidsWB (or whatever it's called now) as it is 4Kids Entertainment.
2) The source anime doesn't suck. Usually, 4Kids hires the shittiest voice actors, censors out basically everything, changes some characters' names, and adds really bad opening and closing music.
Sorry, I thought that was a well known fact I didn't have to explain. 4Kids ruins everything...ESPECIALLY SONIC'S VOICES!!!
